This policy explains how personal data submitted through klintaart.com is handled.
Who the controller is
The data controller is Klinta Lapsa. For anything mentioned in this policy, write to klinta@klintaart.com.
What is collected and why
Painting inquiry (the form on each painting): your name, email address, country, phone or WhatsApp number if you give one, the options you tick (for example a shipping quote or a reservation), and your answer to where the work would hang. This is what makes a proper reply possible, including shipping costs to your country.
Commission request (the commissions page): your name, email, country, phone or WhatsApp if you give one, room type, intended size, budget range, timeline and your description of the project — everything needed to put together a proposal.
Contact form (the contact page): your name, email, your message and — only if you choose to give them — your country and phone or WhatsApp number. Country and phone are optional here.
Wall preview: in addition, the photo of your wall you upload, so the visualisation can be made.
In every case the time of submission and the language of the form are stored as well.
Legal basis
Handling and replying to your inquiry rests on legitimate interest and pre-contractual contact — a reply to your own question never depends on marketing consent.
Emails about new works and exhibitions are sent only with your separate consent. When you tick the consent box, the exact wording you agreed to and the moment you agreed are stored alongside it.
Where the data lives
Submissions are stored in this site's database and file storage (Supabase infrastructure in the EU). Email is sent through the site's email provider. Data is never sold and never used for third-party advertising.
How long it is kept
Inquiries and correspondence are kept as long as needed for the conversation and any resulting sale, and no longer than 3 years after the last contact. Marketing consent is kept until you withdraw it. Accounting records for actual sales are kept for the period required by law.
Your rights
You may access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, receive a copy of it, and withdraw marketing consent at any time (also via the link at the bottom of every email). Write to klinta@klintaart.com and you will have an answer within one month. If you believe your data has been handled incorrectly, you may complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate.
